Just a bit of an update on this latest swirl of rumors (and with the caveat that any errors in interpretation or wording are my own, not anyone else's).

I've just gotten off the phone with Simon Pound, to whom I'd forwarded some of the posts regarding the Fish interview which seemed to confirm that Ray Wilson had been chosen as Phil's replacement. He and Gary Myer forwarded that information along to Hit & Run for their review and possible comment; H&R very kindly called Gary with a response this evening. I've been told that, at this time, per Hit & Run, *no* decision has been made regarding Phil's replacement. There are four to five candidates still in the running and under serious consideration. When there is a decision made, an official press release from Hit & Run *will* be made; however, at this time, it is not expected that any sort of announcement will be made before the new year.

My understanding is that while H&R realizes with what eagerness we're all waiting on announcements regarding a band we all love, they also mentioned that:

(1) statements that do not come from Hit & Run should be taken with due caution -- (well, at least I've saved myself some money by not buying that Stiltskin record til H&R said something :-) and

(2) please, please, understand that H&R is a very small business organization, without a lot of extra personnel to answer phones and questions -- and they appreciate our consideration of that before thinking of calling them directly. Apparently they're getting quite a few calls and it does take up a fair amount of time. Speaking only for myself, I work in an office and can understand that, while it's great to know people are interested, sometimes much effort and time that could be devoted to other, very necessary, projects ends up diverted to answering the phone.

Again, any misinterpretations are solely my own, but I want to thank Gary Myer and Simon Pound, as well as H&R, for their generosity of time and effort.
