Oh Boy ! Am I shattered ! Here we go: As I mentioned last week, I
would try to get an interview with Fish during the Skanderborg
Festival (in Denmark, that is), and: I GOT IT. (I'm not worthy :-) We
talked for about 30 minutes (15 minutes about Genesis), and the whole
thing was taped by "The Company Scandinavia", the local Fish fan
club. They will transcribe it, and I'll post it, but the main point is:

Fish *was* a serious contender, but he talked to Tony on the phone two weeks ago, and he was told that Mike & Tony had made up their mind.
Fish also told me that one of the reasons that he was reluctant himself was that they wanted just a singer, not a songwriter. This should indicate that Mike and Tony would do all the writing themselves.
This is all I can remember (I was really stymied, you know) but as soon as I get the transcription (i.e., this time schedule is out of my control), I'll post the parts of my interview concerning Genesis.
That's it: I have fulfilled my mission in life.

I just saw the Stiltskin Rockpalast concert from 1994, which was shown on WDR Rockpalast last weekend.
My impression of the singer (Ray Wilkins) is that he is a capable singer and he has a deep voice. I think he would be able to sing old Genesis/Gabriel songs, but I think he will have some difficulties singing Genesis/Collins songs.
Actually my first impression is that Ray reminds me of Bono in the early days of U2.
After seeing the video once, I can not say that I am impressed by the Stiltskin performance at all, and I think Ray needs to work a lot, if he wants to be a front-figure on Genesis shows. But apparently Tony and Mike were looking for a singer of his type.
I am willing to exchange this concert (PAL) with other Genesis related material.
